About Gordon's Goods

Hello! Welcome and thank you for being here! I'm Amanda, the baker and cake artist behind Gordon's Goods! This cake business was born from a dream that I didn't even know I had - I have always had a passion for creating and cooking, but didn't discover my love for cake decorating until a few years ago and now I cannot imagine my life without it!

I studied at George Brown College in the Chef Training program but never made my way into the industry, instead I have many years of experience in customer service and management in various industries.

I met my wonderful husband in 2005, and we have been inseparable ever since! We have two amazing boys, and they keep us busy. Balancing working full-time, being a wife and a mom and throwing a cake business into the mix is no small feat, but I couldn't do it all without them.

I grew up watching my Nana bake and decorate cakes - she always would ask "what kind of cake do you want for your birthday?" And no matter what we came up with she would make it happen. I love that I now get to do the same thing.

I have spent countless hours testing recipes so I can be confident that not only do my cakes look great, but they also taste amazing.

There's something so special to me about being a part of people's celebrations, it's an honour that I do not take lightly. I work through all of the details with you from the beginning of the design process to make sure you're getting the cake you love.
